J.J.Elliott, London, England, one of the worlds largest tambour clocks, the walnut case with paneled front, heavily molded base and trim, terminating at each end in a volute with acanthus leaf, heavy cast bezel with thick beveled glass, silvered Roman numeral dial with blued steel hands, chime/ silent lever at 3:00, and heavy brass, 8 day, 3 fusee movement with full Westminster chiming on gongs, and counting the hours on a large gong, signed "J.J. Elliott 121 & 123 Rosebery Avenue London", with original key and pendulum c1910
CONDITION:
Case top surface a bit faded, and with some minor blistering of veneer, and filled holes from finishing nails reinforcing the case, front with minor splits in the panel frame, and splits in the trim, minor scrapes and surface losses, front surface with scattered bloom, back door missing lock, bezel with minor spotting, silvering on dial with significant loss, black filler in numerals mostly absent, hands good, minute slightly bent, movement functioning properly, gongs with good tone, structure inside case supporting and anchoring movement replaced, key and pendulum good Ht18"
